Groupboard demo now scales to size of browser
We just made a minor change to the http://www.groupboard.com/demo page so that it automatically scales up the size of the whiteboard to fit the browser. Please let us know if you notice any problems.
(We may roll this out to all Groupboard pages in the future). -posted by admin at 13 Aug 2015 14:59 |
I can't zoom in anymore on the desktop version. Can you put a link on Demo for the non-scaled version? Thank you. -posted by Rick at 13 Aug 2015 18:26
cmd+ works for me on OSX chrome. Can you explain how you're zooming and what problem you have? (And I'll post a link). -posted by admin at 13 Aug 2015 18:34 |
I'm using CTRL -/+. I made a recording:
Also, if I go to another tab for a couple of minutes, Groupboard refreshes. -posted by Rick at 13 Aug 2015 18:38

Try pressing ctrl+ about 5 times and see what happens. The first few times it might still be the width of the screen, but then it will expand. Basically it will fit to the screen unless the width is less than 820 pixels. Once you zoom in enough, the pixel width of your screen will go below 820, so then Groupboard will fill more than the width of the screen. So you're not really losing out because previously the size was fixed at 820 pixels. -posted by admin at 13 Aug 2015 18:49 |
I don't see the refresh issue. When exactly happens? Are there any errors in the javascript error console? (ctrl+shift+J) -posted by admin at 13 Aug 2015 18:50 |
Oh, and if you do want to use the previous version, you can just go to http://www.groupboard.com/board/1 -posted by admin at 13 Aug 2015 18:50 |
A bunch of "refused to set header" errors. It happens as soon as I zoom in. Thanks for the link by the way. -posted by Rick at 13 Aug 2015 18:53
Those headers are nothing to worry about. Old IE requires those headers, but chrome gives a warning about them. When the whiteboard changes size it has to refresh so that it can redraw the bits of the whiteboard that weren't visible before. It will happen now when you use ctrl+ because the whiteboard changes size. If you prefer using the other link, that's fine. If we roll this out to all boards, I'll make sure to leave an option to go back to the old behaviour. -posted by admin at 13 Aug 2015 19:03 |

when i go on the phone version, everytime i scroll it refreshes, :/ that's frustrating because it worked fine before the change -posted by izumi at 14 Aug 2015 21:43 |
Hi izumi, thanks for reporting this. It looks like it's a bug in Safari -- it's sending resize events when it shouldn't be. It looks like there's a workaround, so it should be easy for me to fix. -posted by admin at 15 Aug 2015 11:28 |
Ok this is now fixed. -posted by admin at 15 Aug 2015 14:08 |
I tried to go on demo again through the phone browser, and I recieved the same issue. The drawings load, but when you scroll down it automatically refreshes the page -posted by izumi at 15 Aug 2015 18:54 |
