AutoCAD DXF reader for Groupboard Designer
We are currently beta-testing an AutoCAD dxf file reader for our Groupboard Designer product. This means that it is possible to upload an AutoCAD dxf file for your customers to view and mark-up online. Contact us if you are interested in helping us beta-test this.
Groupboard now supports Unicode text input
The Groupboard now supports multi-byte character input, allowing you to enter non-European characters such as Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew and Arabic. To enable this feature, you need to add the following html tag to your Groupboard:
<param name=need_utf value=true>
If you are running the Internet/Intranet server version of the Groupboard on your own web server, you will need to download the latest release from our ftp site.
In addition, you must change an option on the server to prevent control characters being stripped out of the chat text. If you are running your own server, you can simply set the "dont_strip_ctrl_chars" option to true for the board. If you are running a version of the Groupboard hosted from www.groupboard.com, email us to set this option for your board.
Portuguese, Norwegian, German and Japanese versions of Groupboard
We now have new translations of the Groupboard available in addition to the existing languages (Spanish, French and Danish). If you are running the Groupboard hosted from www.groupboard.com, you can pick up the translated versions by changing your codebase (in the HTML) from "java" to either:
java.port
java.nor
java.german
java.jp
If you are running the Internet/Intranet server version of the Groupboard, contact us to obtain the translated java class files.
Poker added to Groupboard games
We have recently released a multi-player poker game with virtual betting. If you have set up games on your Groupboard, this new game will automatically appear in the list of games (email us if you DON'T want the poker game to appear in the games list for your board). To add games to your Groupboard, simply go to the "board info" dialog (in the admin menu) and tick the Games tickbox.
Currently the multi-player games are only available on versions of the Groupboard hosted on www.groupboard.com. If you are running the standalone server version on your own web server, please contact us if you are interested in hosting the games.
